UFC president Dana White shot down rumors that a press conference being held on Friday by welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre in Montreal would have any announcement relating to the champ’s future, but we still could be getting some answers on Friday.

Late Thursday night, White announced that there will be a “special media conference call” at 2 p.m. ET that White and St-Pierre will be holding.

While no details on the call have been announced, White did say “stuff that people want to hear” will be announced on the call.

Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting passed along the report:

With a special call being scheduled, fans are beginning to worry that we may have seen the end of St-Pierre inside of the octagon.

Of course, White could be using the call to make a big announcement and pass along news that St-Pierre and Hendricks will be rematching early in 2014, so we will have to wait and see how it all plays out on Friday afternoon.

Stay tuned.
