‘Edge of Tomorrow’ First Official Trailer Released

Today, the people at Warner Bros. have given us our first look at the trailer for the upcoming film Edge of Tomorrow.

This film is based off of a novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka names All You Need is Kill.

In the story, Lt. Col. Bill Cage, played by Tom Cruise, has never seen a day of actual combat in his life. Suddenly, he finds himself being dropped into what is essentially a suicide mission against an alien race that is invading the planet Earth. Thus far, the invaders have been undefeatable by ay army on Earth.

Unfortunately for Cage, he is killed almost immediately. One would think that this would be the shortest film in history; however, queue the Groundhog Day comments, he awakens the next day, having been thrown deep into a time loop, only to relive the same day over and over again.

However, one day, everything changes. When he meets Special Forces soldier Rita Vrataski, played by Emily Blunt, he realizes that he is not alone in his dilemma. Each day when they awaken, the two of them train to increase their skills.

As each day passes, they get closer and closer to actually being able to defeat the alien invaders.

Here is a look at the first official trailer for the film Edge of Tomorrow.

The film, being directed by Doug Liman, also stars Big Love’s Bill Paxton and Entourage’s Jeremy Piven.

Edge of Tomorrow is scheduled to be released on June 6, 2014.
