This week saw the release of the first official trailer for the upcoming film Godzilla. What better to go with a trailer than the poster art to accompany it? Well, that is exactly what the people at Warner Bros. have given us.
The poster is pretty dark and ominous. You get a very slight glimpse of the monster. To be honest, if you don’t know what you are looking for, you may just pass right over it.
You can tell by the destruction that a storm is brewing. A team of soldier is being dispatch via a Halo jump. One of those soldiers is Lieutenant Ford, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
The one thing I have been happy about thus far is that you have never gotten a really good look at the monster itself. I mean, we all know what Godzilla looks like, but each and every incantation of the monster is different in his own scaly way.
Throughout the trailer, and even in the poster, you get veiled glimpses of the Godzilla, but you never get a clean, clear, straight forward look at him. I want to know as much as the next person; however, I sincerely hope that they keep their ace in the hole under wraps until the release of the film.
Here is a look at the new poster for the upcoming film Godzilla.
In addition to Taylor-Johnson, the film stars Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston and Oldboy’s Elizabeth Olsen as the father/daughter team of Joe and Elle Brody, Fifty Shades of Grey’s Victor Rasuk as Tre Morales, Juliette Binoche as Ford’s mother, and many more.
Godzilla is scheduled to be released in RealD 3D, IMAX 3D, and conventional theaters on May 16, 2014.
