The Utah Jazz defeated the Sacramento Kings 122-101 at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, CA.  The Jazz improved to 5-19, and the Kings fell to 6-14.

You may think when a four win team plays a six win team, you get a good game. That proposition could not have been further from the truth in Sacramento tonight.

The Jazz boomed the Kings in the third quarter, outscoring Sacramento 38-26, to take a 96-72 lead into the fourth.  After the Kings scored the first six points in the fourth, I thought an epic comeback was in the works, but that was not the case. Somehow, the 28th ranked offense managed to score 122 points.  A few Kings players were smiling on the bench at the end of the game, and rightfully so, their performance was laughable.  At least, Jimmer Fredette got some playing time for the Kings, and scored nine of their final 13 points.

Utah top performers:  Small forward Richard Jefferson scored 20 points with three assists.  Power forward Derrick Favors netted 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and blocked three shots.  Shooting guard Gordon Hayward scored 17 points, collected four rebounds, and dropped four dimes.  Point guard Alec Burks finished with 17 points, three rebounds, and two assists.  Point guard Trey Burke dished out nine assists, and scored 11 points.

Sacramento top performers:  Center DeMarcus Cousins scored 21 points and grabbed 11 boards.  Point guard Isaiah Thomas netted 20 points and dropped seven dimes.  Power forward Derrick Williams scored 13 points and collected seven rebounds.  Point guard Jimmer Fredette scored 13 points.

Next game: Utah plays at Denver (13-8) on Friday at 9 pm ET.  Sacramento plays at Phoenix (12-9) on Friday at 9 pm ET.
