There is a lot of speculation surrounding Texas Longhorns head coach Mack Brown’s future with the club. While reports were coming out that he was expecting to resign, he was in Florida recruiting. On Wednesday, Brown visited three-star Tampa Plant linebacker Andrew Beck who had some interesting things to say about his time with Brown.
“Coach Brown said ‘As of right now, I’m still the head coach. As of tonight, I’m still going to be head the head coach.’ He said tomorrow morning he has a press conference for the bowl game, then after that, he has a meeting with the new athletic director and the president of the University to get it straightened away,” Beck told Rivals.com. “He said it’s tough from their position, with the new AD getting thrown into the fire right away. But he seems pretty confident he’ll be there for a while.”
Beck committed to Texas back in April, and he remains committed as long as Brown is there.
“If Coach Brown is still there, I’ll be there in January. But if he’s not, I don’t want to rush into anything,” Beck said. “But after talking to (Brown) today, I’m pumped, I’m ready to start working for Coach Brown.”
If Brown isn’t he might consider one of the other schools that made him an offer like Florida State, Miami, Oklahoma, Stanford among others.
