The Seattle Mariners have been one busy team this off-season as they’ve acquired first baseman Logan Morrison and signed second baseman Robinson Cano to a 10 year contract.

Now they’ve officially added former Milwaukee Brewers utility man Corey Hart to a one year contract worth $5 million. A colleague of mine reported (click here) this on Tuesday but the details of the contract were not released right away.

With Hart being added to the 40 man roster, he will more than likely play somewhere in the outfield. Which means someone has to go.

The Mariners have decided to designate 24 year old Travis Witherspoon for assignment after he was claimed in October from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
