Everett Golson, who quarterbacked the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the BCS Championship game this past January, applied for readmission to the school in mid-November. After going through the appropriate process, Golston learned on Friday that he has been reinstated to the university.
By being readmitted, Golson is now free to practice with the Fighting Irish football team and work on his return to the field for next season.
While Golson is eligible to practice, Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said that Golson will not be practicing until after the Fighting Irish face Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl later this month. He will then begin his road to reclaiming the starting job for the Fighting Irish.
Last season, Golson threw for 2,405 yards and 12 touchdowns while adding six more on the ground.
He was a valuable part of the Notre Dame offense and it will be interesting to see how he is able to bounce back after his time off.
