Arizona Wildcats Ka’Deem Carey didn’t walk away with the Doak Walker Award on Thursday night  — Boston College’s Andre Williams took home the honor — and the star running back plans on using the loss as motivation.

Per the Arizona Daily Star:

If you look in my eyes right now, I probably have a fierce look. Now I have some motivation going forward. You just take it in and use it as motivation. That’s all you can do. A negative thing, you turn into a positive thing and that’s all I’m going to do. You have to put in the work and keep grinding.

Obviously I wasn’t the best this year, so now I’m going to strive to be the best in the future.

Now I have to punch it through and get the award. It was a great experience to be here, but there’s more left out there.

Carey, who ran for 1,176 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, said he hasn’t yet decided about if he’ll be returning to Arizona for his senior year, but he did say that “the awards have a lot to do with [the] decision.”
