LaMarcus Aldridge and Robin Lopez star in ridiculous car commercial

LaMarcus Aldridge and Robin Lopez have been a dynamic duo on the court for the Portland Trail Blazers this season, helping the team rise to the top of the Western Conference standings. Their chemistry when placed in front of a camera, however? Yeah…it’s probably a good thing that, as far as we know, neither of them are contemplating early retirement to pursue acting.

For the Win posted the commercial earlier today. If you live in the Portland area and are in the market for a new car, I really can’t imagine how you’d think to shop anywhere besides McLaughlin Auto Mall after watching this.

The people behind the commercial were smart to have Aldridge and Lopez demonstrate intentionally poor acting skills. Most ads starring athletes tend to be awkward, so why not avoid criticism and have the ad be intentionally awkward? That seems like a very Portland thing to do.

However, given some of the reviews McLaughlin Auto Mall has received on Yelp, it appears that not all Portlanders are amused by the silly commercial. Tough crowd.
