The Indiana Pacers have been waiting patiently for forward Danny Granger to return to the court.
There have been tentative return dates that have not manifested, but the team is hopeful Granger will be on the court this coming Friday according to Candace Buckner:
#Pacers targeting next Friday as Danny Granger’s return.
The small forward has only played in five games since the 2011-12 season thanks to a surgically-repaired knee. Granger’s currently been out thanks to a sore calf, which Granger says is feeling quite well though there’s still concern about how Granger’s knee will react.
Indiana will certainly limit the oft-injured talent for a considerable amount of time, doing whatever they can to keep him healthy so don’t expect to see Granger averaging more than a few minutes initially.
Assuming Granger can return to full health at some point this season, he’ll likely prove to be an extremely valuable weapon as the Pacers march towards the postseason – again – assuming he’s healthy.
Indiana’s game against the Houston Rockets on Friday evening will be nationally televised on ESPN.
