New York Knicks’ JR Smith, Mike Woodson have ‘heated exchange’

Just another day as the Knicks turn, I guess.

If it’s not players going at each other, it’s players going at their head coach, which is allegedly what took place after the New York Knicks’ loss this past Wednesday.

According to the New York Daily News, head coach Mike Woodson called out J.R. Smith‘s shot selection after a loss to the Chicago Bulls. That lead to Smith making a ‘lewd comment’ towards Woodson on the bench, which Woodson called Smith out on after the game.

That lead to a heated exchange and a self-imposed ‘strike’ put on by Smith where he only took one shot in the Knicks loss to the Celtics on Friday night:

J.R. Smith’s self-imposed freeze-out during Friday’s loss to the Boston Celtics came one day after the guard and head coach Mike Woodson exchanged heated words following Wednesday’s win over the Chicago Bulls, the Daily News has learned.

Things have become so bad, it’s now rumored the Knicks are open to trading center Tyson Chandler assuming a team will take Smith in the deal.
