Recently, Ole Miss and guard Marshall Henderson took on Middle-Tennessee State University.
It was a matchup that heavily favored Ole Miss, but after watching the early portions of the game, you had to think the ball was bouncing Ole Miss’ way – literally.
With just seconds left in the first half, Marshall Henderson was trapped beyond the three point line and was looking to pass. His options were limited, so he decided he’d attempt to make an interior bounce pass to an awaiting teammate. Only problem? They pass never got to his intended destination as it was hit by a Middle-Tennessee defender. Unable to control the tip, the ball bounced to another defender who was also unable to secure the potential steal.
The ball went tumbling into the air after hitting the second defender and fell right into the basket, good for two points. Yes, to simplify it – the ball bounced off of two defenders and somehow found its way into the bucket.
The extremely odd basket counted and gave Henderson and Ole Miss a nine point lead.
