The San Francisco 49ers may have left Tampa Bay with a victory on Sunday, but they might have lost fullback Bruce Miller for a considerable amount of time.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, Miller may have suffered a ‘significant’ scapula injury:

"Jim Harbaugh said FB Bruce Miller has an injury “that doesn’t look good” to his scapula (shoulder blade). 49ers likely to add Owen Marecic."

Miller has always been known for being a solid blocker, though emerged as a solid option in the 49ers passing game, picking up a lot of the numbers left by former backup tight end Delanie Walker who joined the Tennessee Titans this past offseason.

It’s expected that Miller will go through a battery of testing today and tomorrow before any final results are announced, but it’s clear San Francisco believes he’ll be out for the immediate future.

Assuming Miller is out for more than a few weeks, it’ll be a tough blow to the San Francisco run game as Miller graded out as top four run blocker through the first fifteen weeks.
