Les Miles on Texas Longhorns coaching job: 'Let’s not get my name into that'

If you are a successful head coach at any level, chances are your name will be linked to the Texas Longhorns as they search for a new head coach — just ask Nick Saban. Many of the names that have been linked to the Longhorns wish list have already denied the any interest in the job, and now we can add LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles to that list.

Miles was believed to be among the coaches who Texas would approach for their opening, but he wasted no time attempting to distance himself from the Longhorns gig.

Let’s not get my name into that,” Miles said after being asked about any interest in the job, via Scott Rabalais of The Advocate.

Miles is no stranger to being linked to jobs in the past, so he has likely learned his lesson and wants to get away from discussion before his name begins to dominate the rumor mill like Saban experienced.

Of course, you can never be too sure about what will happen with college football coaches since they can leave at any time they would like, so it will be interesting to see what turn the story takes next.
