The Minnesota Vikings got a big win over the Philadelphia Eagles at home. Part of that was the stellar play of quarterback Matt Cassel who completed 74.3 percent of passes for 382 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. One of those touchdown passes was to wide receiver Greg Jennings who expressed his affection towards Cassel after the game.

Jennings was asked if he wanted Cassel back next year.

“Absolutely. I love Matt,” Jennings said, via Bob Sansevere of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “I think he brings a lot to the table.”

Cassel got a shot earlier in the season against the Steelers but was benched. The season could have been different had he been kept in the role.

“Yeah, you wonder, but we have to move on,” Jennings said. “I remember mentioning something like that to Matt. He said: “We have three games. Let’s make the best of it.” I love it because that’s his mind-set. He’s not worried about what could have, should have — what possibly could have been. He stays in the now. As a player, that’s how we have to operate. We have to stay in the now and take advantage of what is right in front of us.”
