Over the weekend, the Texas Longhorns lost out on a chance to lure Nick Saban over from Alabama after the coach signed a fat extension with the Crimson Tide. There was a ton of drama about this story with some Alabama fans turning on Saban before he left for even entertaining the idea of leaving Alabama for anywhere else.

But now that Saban is indeed staying in Alabama, fans are not waiting to rub it in the faces of Longhorns fans hopeful that they were going to steal Saban away. A local business in Tuscaloosa called All-American Self Storage put up a billboard that proclaims Alabama indeed messed with Texas and got away with it.

This is not only a dig at Texas losing out on the Nick Saban duel but could also be harkening back to the big win Alabama had over Texas in the National Championship game back in 2010. In that game, Greg McElroy infamously gave the upside down Lornhorn salute after winning convincingly over the Longhorns and Texas fans haven’t forgotten.

Of course, stealing away the head coach who led the Tide to that win would have soothed the wound but that didn’t happen either and this billboard is just the latest in a long line of Alabama burns directed west towards Texas.
