When it comes to a good horror movie, there are two things that freak me out more than anything. One of them is a story that involves the devil, demons, or some sort of possession scenario. The other is creepy children. However, when you put the two of these things together, it is usually time for me to pull the covers over my head, count to 10, and tell myself that the story isn’t real. With the release of their newest trailer, which they have called “Silent Night”, it has become apparent that Devil’s Due fits into the both category for me.
This is a good thing.
After mysterious losing a night on their honeymoon, newlyweds Zach and Samatha McCall, find themselves deal with a much earlier than expect “little miracle.”
Much like the Paranormal Activity films, the couple decides to start recording everything for good measure.
It is not long before Zach starts to notice Samantha’s odd behavior. Initially, the couple writes this off as nerves. After all, they were just married and are now looking at adding a child to the equation so soon. Every new parent is bound to be a little nervous, right?
However, as the months pass, and the baby inside of her begins to grow, the changes to her body and mind start to unveil a much more sinister plot, showing us that not all “miracles” come from above.
Devil’s Due is being directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The film marks the second project for screenwriter Lindsay Devlin.
