Monday’s game between the San Antonia Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers wasn’t exactly a thrilling affair — the Spurs were decimated to the tune of 115-92 — but that didn’t stop San Antonio head coach Gregg Popovich from having a bit of fun after the game. Popovich decided to swipe the headband off the dome of Stephen Jackson, a former San Antonio Spur now playing for the Clippers.

As Dime points out, Popovich returned the stolen headband in the most Popovich-ian — yes, that’s a word, Oxford English Dictionary be damned — way possible: by discreetly slipping it into the back of Jackson’s jersey as Jackson embraced Tim Duncan.
‘Tis the season for giving and all that jazz, but I’m glad to see it is also the season for stealing and then giving said stolen goods back. That’s far more exciting that plain ol’ giving.
If you want to learn more about Jackson’s time with the Spurs, San Antonio Express-News ran this profile back in June.
