Free agent first baseman Kendrys Morales remains on the market. A switch-hitting power hitter who smacked 23 home runs last season for the Seattle Mariners, any number of teams could use his production. Today his agent, none other than Scott Boras, took to the media waves to discuss what a “hot commodity” his client is, his go-to move to get his guys paid.
Per Jon Morosi of Fox Sports:
Kendrys Morales is being pursued by NL teams as well as AL teams, according to agent Scott Boras. @FOXSports1

Teams are concerned about Morales’s limitations defensively, which might deem the supposed interest from NL teams to be hogwash. There is an additional snag for any team that signs Morales: because he declined a qualifying offer from the Mariners it will cost his new team a draft pick.
It is at this time of year that we believe what Scott Boras has to say at our own risk, but even with these nuances, one would assume that a bat like his would not last much longer. The Mariners have moved on from Morales, leaving interested teams like the Los Angeles Angels, Baltimore Orioles, and whichever mystery NL team is involved to vie for his services.
