The ongoing saga that is Alex Rodriguez vs. Major League Baseball continues to take twists and turns. Too many to list here and changing seemingly by the hour, one new tidbit of information was brought to light by the New York Post’s Emily Smith today.
Not surprisingly, A-Rod is looking to cash in on his most recent dilemma. He is reportedly being offered a book deal by several publishers – worth millions to him – to write a tell-all book about his quest to overturn his widely publicized 211-game suspension imposed by MLB.
From the New York Post report:
Sources exclusively tell Page Six that HarperCollins and Random House are two of the top publishers battling for the real A-Rod story, and that a deal could be signed in the next few weeks.
A source tells us: “A number of publishers are vying for the book, with offers coming in over $5 million. Alex has met with several publishers over the past few weeks and has meetings with others right after the new year.
A documentary is also reportedly in the works.
So, even if A-Rod’s suspension is upheld and he misses out on his massive annual salary, he will have this little book deal to fall back on. Must be nice.
