Today, the people at Fox have given us our first real look at the upcoming film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
In Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, we pick up a decade after a devastating virus was unleashed on the world. The growing army of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is now being threatened by a band of human survivors. The two sides are able to reach some semblance of peace; however, as you can imagine, this kind of peace can only last so long.
Now, the two sides are trapped on the brink of a war that could very well determine which side will be the Earth’s dominant species.
In the beginning of the trailer, we see the band of human survivors rallying together.
“We’ve been through hell together.” They say. “We spent 4 years, 4 years fighting that virus, and then another 4 fighting each other, and it was chaos. But you all know what we’re up against.”
Then, we see Malcolm, played by White House Down’s Jason Clarke, as he approaches the woods. He looks high into the trees and demands to see Caesar.
Caesar looks down on him ominously. After an intense stare off, Caesar sends the troops down to “greet” him.
Will the human race be able to survive against the monsters that they ultimately created?
Here is a look at the first trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
In addition to Clarke, the film stars Gary Oldman, Judy Greer, Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, and more.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is scheduled to be released in Digital 3D and Real 3D on July 11, 2014.
