There have been multiple reports that the Detroit Lions could decide to part ways with head coach Jim Schwartz if the team fails to make the playoffs, but there are some players are hoping to avoid bidding their coach farewell.

One of the team’s top defensive stars, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, is among those who doesn’t want to see their coach go and he hopes that the Lions will not fire him after the season.

“Am I playing for Jim’s job?” Suh said, via FOXSportsDetroit.com. “I think that’s a part in it. Everybody wants to win. Owners expect winning. I don’t want that coach to go anywhere. I love his scheme.”

Unfortunately for Suh, the Lions have not lived up to expectations and they have not reached the level that their talent suggests they should. As a result, the team must find a scapegoat and there is no better place to start than with the man who is running the show.
