‘Warcraft’ Daniel Wu and Clancy Brown Join Cast

Today, Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures have secured two more members of the cast for their upcoming film Warcraft. Deadline is reporting that the studios have locked down Daniel Wu and Clancy Brown to star in unspecified roles.

The details of the film have been kept tightly under wraps. They have even gone to the lengths of not announcing cast members’ specific roles. I can completely understand this philosophy, though.

The universe, created by Blizzard Entertainment, has spawned books, video games, and even a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game.) There is so much lore available in the franchise, that the slightest little detail could spell out the entire storyline for someone if they spent enough time in the World of Warcraft.

Daniel Wu has starred in such as New Police Story with Jackie Chan and The Man With the Iron Fists with Lucy Liu. Clancy Brown can most recently be seen in the film Homefront with Jason Statham and James Franco. He is also has a recurring role as Sheriff August Corbin on the hit Fox television series Sleepy Hollow.

The film is being directed by Source Code and Moon director Duncan Jones. The screenplay is being penned by Jones and The Express writer Charles Leavitt. The story and characters were developed by game designer Chris Metzen.

Wu and Brown are joining a cast that already includes Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Toby Kebbel, Rob Kazinsky, and Dominic Cooper.

Warcraft is scheduled to be released on March 11, 2016.
