Agents of SHIELD star Clark Gregg gets brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

If you are familiar with the ABC series Marvel’s'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ or action films The Avengers and Iron Man, then you should know who Clark Gregg is. Gregg is currently playing agent Phil Coulson in Marvel’s'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,’ but he is also a real life bad ass.

When he is away from the set, Gregg spends his time learning the beautiful art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Rigan Machado and Renato Magno at their academy in Santa Monica, California.

However, unlike some Hollywood stars that just train in martial arts for fun, Gregg is a legit jiu jitsu player.

That was proven recently when the Machado’s presented Gregg with his brown belt, which comes after years of dedication to the sport — it certainly doesn’t come easily.

Gregg shared his brown belt promotion on Facebook:

It is certainly impressive to see Gregg put that time in energy into the sport of jiu jitsu and it says a lot about his skills on the mat. So if you are a bad guy coming after Agent Coulson in the future, you better protect your neck.
