Bucks shut down Ersan Ilyasova, start Giannis Antetokounmpo

Out is Ersan Ilyasova and in his place is Giannis Antetokounmpo. Phew. That was a mouthful.

That’s the news out of Milwaukee as the Bucks have decided to ‘shut down‘ forward Ersan Ilyasova who continues to deal with a lingering ankle injury.

Ersan Ilyasova is being shut down due to his ankle injury and Gary Neal in a walking boot and will not travel to Cleveland, Drew says.

There’s no word on how long the team will keep Ilyasova on the the shelve, though he’s looked like a shell of his former self playing injured so it could be for a considerable time period until he returns to full health.

It’s just one of many injuries for the Bucks who are also dealing with the loss of Caron Butler, though he is expected to return in the somewhat near future.

The loss of both players clears playing time for Antetokounmpo, better known as ‘Alphabet’ who received his first NBA start this past Wednesday.

By no stretch an offensive force, ‘Alphabet’ didn’t have many plays drawn up for him but still attributed across the statistical line thanks to his all-around game.
