It was more of the same from the Duke Blue Devils inside their unofficial home of Madison Square Garden on Thursday night as they took down the UCLA Bruins, 80-63.
Once again, the stud freshman Jabari Parker led the way with 23 points on the night for the Blue Devils on 7-of-13 shooting from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. He also added in 10 rebounds, giving him the double-double for the evening as he further progresses as the young season goes along, which is a scary thought for the future.
Quinn Cook and Rodney Hood also finished in double figures, ending the night with 14 points each. Forward Amile Jefferson added in 11 points off the bench in the ninth win of the season for Duke.
UCLA hung around for a good part of the contest tonight, but couldn’t finish down the stretch against the obviously superior Duke team.
Three Bruins starters finished in double figures, led by forward David Wear who ended up with 16 on the night.
Duke improves to 9-2 on the season, while UCLA suffered only their second loss on the year as they continue to make some strides under Steve Alford.
