The Houston Rockets were all to trade center Omer Asik on Thursday, at least according to rumors from some of the most respected basketball reporters on the planet.

But as the hours ticked by, Asik was still in Houston and no trade was made. Even more shocking – there was a complete reversal in the Asik rumors. Not only was a trade not happening on Thursday, Asik wasn’t going to be traded at all – at least not for the foreseeable future.

Even more hilarious? The team, who desperately attempted to move Asik is now asking fans to vote the big man into the 2013-14 NBA All-Star game.

Social media happy general manager Daryl Morey urged fans to put Asik on their ballots with All-Star voting underway:

I uh – I don’t even know what to say. Sure, the Rockets would obviously like Asik in the All-Star game (which is a laughable and unrealistic notion in the first place) but really? Isn’t that kind of like bringing home flowers to your significant other after cheating on them?
