The Minnesota Twins and former Oakland Athletic’s catcher Kurt Suzuki have agree’d to terms on a one year contract that could be worth around $3 million.

The details on the contract are yet to be released, but the Twins have found themselves a solid back up that will compliment Josmil Pinto perfectly. Suzuki was getting some interest from several teams before he struck a deal with the Twins.
Teams like the Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers and the Twins themselves. With Joe Mauer moving a permanent move to first base after concussions from playing the position, the team handed the job to Pinto and needed to add some depth.
The 30 year old veteran catcher has had a little bit of a decline when it comes to offensive production, but he’s due to have a season like Dioner Navarro. He batted .232/.290/.337 with five home runs and 32 RBI’s.
Fans may be disappointed with the signing, but should give him a chance before counting him out before Spring Training begins.
