The Arizona Diamond backs signed a pair of minor league free agents in catcher Henry Blanco and third baseman Andy Marte. Blanco is 42-years-old and his signing likely includes an invitation to spring training as well. He could be competing with Miguel Montero for the back up catcher role.

Marte’s signing also likely includes a trip to spring training. He hasn’t appeared in the major leagues since the 2010 season but played well in 2013 between York in the Independent Atlantic League and Triple-A Salt Lake. His stat line read .313/.373/.536 with 25 homers and 92 RBI in 122 games.
