The Duke Blue Devils announced on Saturday that running back Jela Duncan, the team’s leading rusher in 2013 with 562 yards, has been suspended. Duncan will miss both the Chick-fil-A Bowl against the Texas A&M Aggies and the entirety of the 2014 season.

The suspension is reportedly due to Duncan violating the school’s academic policy.

Laura Keeley, the Duke beat reporter for the Raleigh News and Observer, revealed some details about the suspension on her Twitter account.

Duncan has rushed for 1,115 yards and seven touchdowns in 26 career games for the Blue Devils.

We will keep you posted when more information is made available.
