The 2013 college football bowl season kicks off on Saturday with the Gildan New Mexico Bowl. This one features a match up between the 6-6 Washington State Cougars of the Pac-12 and the 7-6 Colorado State Rams of the Mountain West Conference.
Mike Leach will look to get his young team to seven wins to end the season as they get ready to possibly make a run in the conference in 2014. While they more than certainly had their down moments this season, they did have their flashes of brilliance at times, showing signs of a team progressing.
Colorado State also showed signs of progression under second-year head coach Jim McElwain who has done a tremendous job with this program.
These two teams match up rather well against one another and should be a good way to get this bowl season kicked off.
