For everything that has gone wrong for the Fresno State Bulldogs today in the Las Vegas Bowl against the USC Trojans, there was bound to be something good that can happen, and that did very early on in the fourth quarter.
They really didn’t have an answer for USC quarterback Cody Kessler all game, except for on one particular play as the final period got underway.
Kessler dropped back to throw to see if he can get yet another scoring drive going for his team, when he was intercepted by Fresno State defensive back Derron Smith, who proceeded to take the ball 41 yards back the other way for the touchdown, cutting into the lead just a little bit:
That was probably the highlight of the afternoon for Fresno State, and the euphoria didn’t really last long as USC answered right back with another score.
But again, not everything was negative today for Fresno State, although they’ll still want to forget most of what happened today in Sin City.
