The Fresno State Bulldogs just really can’t seem to get a lot to go their way today in the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl against the USC Trojans.
For starters, the Fresno defense basically hasn’t had many answers for the USC offensive attack. USC scored 35 points in the first half, turning this game into a virtual rout instantly.
What also hasn’t helped is the fact that this vaunted Fresno State offensive attack has went completely stagnant. QB Derek Carr and the rest of the unit have been pretty much shut down.
They’ve also had some costly mistakes, like this one by Carr at the end of the third quarter.
Looking to get into the end zone to tighten things up, Carr dropped back and lobbed one into the end zone. Unfortunately, though, it fell into the wrong hands of a USC defender, ending the possible scoring drive:
Again, things just don’t seem to be going the way of the Bulldogs in this one, no matter what the circumstance is.
