The USC Trojans were able to cap off one of the most tumultuous seasons in recent memory by capturing their 10th win on the season as they easily took care of the Fresno State Bulldogs in the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl, 45-20.
Under the watch of interim head coach–and offensive coordinator–Clay Helton, the USC offense was the dominant force today that we all expected them to be prior to the season.
On the day, this unit racked up 499 yards of total offense against the Bulldogs. QB Cody Kessler finished the afternoon with 344 yards and four touchdowns. Those scoring catches were split between stud wide receivers Marqise Lee and Nelson Algholor evenly.
Running back Javorious Allen added 87 yards on the ground and two more scores to complete the USC offensive onslaught.
For QB Derek Carr and the Fresno State Bulldogs, this was not the way they imagined this season ending. Just a few weeks ago, they were talked about as being a potential BCS buster. Today, they were brought way back down to earth by a resurgent USC program.
Carr finished with 277 yards and two touchdowns in this his final collegiate game.
