The USC Trojans were able to dominate the Fresno State Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon in the 2013 Las Vegas Bowl, with Clay Helton serving as the interim coach. While Helton’s status with the team was uncertain moving forward due to the coaching changes and hiring of Steve Sarkisian, Helton proved his worth to the team and it appears that he will be rewarded.

Multiple Los Angeles media outlets are reporting that Sarkisian has decided to keep Helton on the staff moving forward.

Helton served as the offensive coordinator for USC, but there is no word on whether or not he will continue to run the team’s offense.

USC’s offense has been playing at a much higher level since Helton took over the reigns of the offense, so keeping him on the coaching staff will be a move that can hopefully allow the team to continue progressing.
