Cash Money Records could be starting sports agency

There’s no bigger name in hip-hop than Jay Z, so as the Jigga Man does, those will follow.

Case in point? Cash Money Records, home to popular acts like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake has reportedly recently filed a legal request to trademark ‘Visionare Sports Group’ which is expected to become a sports agency – similar to that of Jay’s ‘Roc Nation Sports’.

Per XXL Magazine:

Cash Money Records may be getting into the sports game. The famed record label has filed a legal request to trademark the name Visionaire Sports Group, according to government records obtained by XXL.

Of course, it should be pointed out that at this point the request is nothing more than an attempt to trademark the name. Whether or not the hip-hop record label actually goes through with the process remains to be seen.

Assuming the company is formed, they’d become the third major rap act/label to launch a professional sports agency.

In addition to Cash Money Records and Jay Z, Master P once served as chairman of No Limit Sports who signed multiple large name (at the time) athletes like Ricky Williams, Ron Mercer and Derek Anderson.
