The New York Mets have had their hand in the cookie jar quite often this offseason, but the only ‘name’ player they’ve brought in has been Curtis Granderson.
Both Drew and Morales had hoped to cash in on their 2013 success but thanks to the Red Sox and Mariners each placing a qualifying offer on their respective player, teams were reluctant to part with a draft pick which would be required if a team was to sign either player.

The Mets certainly have a need for both players, however neither is viewed to be a relatively solid investment given their contractual demands.
Of course, it could be Boras simply attempting to create more interest in his clients as well as signing both Drew and Morales seems unlikely for the Mets.
