In the first quarter of the Carolina Panthers crucial Week 16 match up against the New Orleans Saints, Panthers No. 1 wide receiver Steve Smith went down with a leg injury. Smith extended for an overthrown pass but came up short, before coming down awkwardly on his leg.

Smith immediately reached to his leg and collapsed to the ground.

It appeared to be a knee injury for Smith, though there has been no official update from the team.

We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
