After scoring first against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals let the Vikes right back into it by giving up a scoring pass of their own from Matt Cassel to Jarius Wright that evened things up at seven.
That Vikings touchdown came with about 10 minutes left in the first quarter, and then from there, the scoring went stagnant for a bit. Well, that was until right at the end of the opening period.
With time in the first quarter winding down, the Bengals drove the ball 90 yards down the field and capped off the drive with this touchdown pass from Andy Dalton to A.J. Green from 29 yards out to give Cincinnati the 14-7 lead early in the contest:
That was a much-needed score for the Bengals as they definitely didn’t want to leave the Vikings hanging around too long in this one. The Bengals don’t need anymore letdowns before this season comes to a close and they have to focus on the postseason.
The first quarter has just ended in this one.
