When the Rockets take the floor tonight against the Mavericks they’ll be welcoming back one half of their starting backcourt while the other half will be taking the night off.

After missing 10 of the last 12 games, Jeremy Lin is ready to return to the Rockets starting lineup. If he was dropped in your league, grab him off the waiver wire and plug him right into your lineup. If he’s been on your bench, it’s time to get him back in the lineup which is well-timed with the start of this week. He should step right into some pretty heavy minutes especially with Patrick Beverly out 4-6 weeks with a fractured hand. The Rockets play a massive five-game slat this week, so Lin should produce well as he hits the ground running.

He’ll be running without his backcourt mate for at least tonight, though, as James Harden takes the night off Monday against the Mavs. He is hoping to return Wednesday, so he can stay in your weekly lineups although there definitely is risk since he is planning on recovering completely before returning.

If you are looking for a spot-starter for Harden, the Rocket most likely to pick up the slack is Francisco Garcia who had a solid game Saturday starting in place of the bearded wonder. Garcia hit four three-pointers in that game finishing with a total of 16 points to go with his five rebounds, four assists, and a block. Garcia only has reliable value while Harden is out, but is a decent plug-and-play for Harden owners while hoping for a midweek Christmas Day return.
