Michigan OT Taylor Lewan accused of assault according to a report

According to a report from Bucknuts.com, part of the 247 Sports network, offensive tackle Taylor Lewan is facing assault charges.  The event in question took place the evening after the Michigan Wolverines lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes in this year’s version of “The Game” on December 1st in Ann Arbor.

The report, taken from the victim and witnesses describes a scene where Lewan essentially cold cocked an otherwise innocent bystander, which led to people having to pull Lewan away long enough for the victim to be escorted away by friends.  To this point, the police have refused to comment on the situation and this is one side of the story, but the incident does not look good to one of the best offensive tackles in the country.

The Wolverines are preparing to take on the Kansas State Wildcats in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl on December 28th, which would be the last of Lewan’s career in Ann Arbor.  He is highly regarded when it comes to the NFL Draft as well, so this could have a potential impact on where he goes in May, should this report as it is presented turn out to be true.
