Greetings! With Christmas day approaching as the “landmark” day of the NBA’s regular season calendar, there is increasing discussion about the league’s landscape, and inevitably, that brings the conversation around to the league’s MVP.

During every week of the 2013-2014 season, we’ve checked in with a look at the MVP race with a “power rankings” format, and this week is no different. The most recent installment brought a shake-up in the top 5 (and they can be found here), but every week is a new week in the NBA, and that’s no different here.

For reference, the MVP “criteria” used here is the most literal sense of the word, and team success (while certainly a factor) doesn’t include or exclude any prospective candidate from the proceedings. Without further ado, let’s get it going!
