San Antonio Spurs haven’t practiced in over a month

Maybe Allen Iverson should have played for the San Antonio Spurs, considering he wasn’t the biggest fan of practice.

Dealing with a hectic travel schedule and attempting to keep their aging players fresh (some of which are already dealing with injury), the San Antonio Spurs haven’t held a practice in over a month, this according to the San Antonio News-Express:

The November and December schedules have been so full of games and travel days that Popovich has chosen to use off days as rest days, including Sunday. Asked to recall the last practice, Popovich furrowed his brow, scratched his head and gave up. “I can’t remember,” he said.

In fact, the last real practice was Nov. 19, during a stretch of four days without a game after returning from a victory in Utah and preceding a home win over Boston.

Of course, at 21-6 and having played the most road games in the league (they’re tied with a handful of teams), I guess practice isn’t all that important.

It’s expected the Spurs will return to their normal practice schedule once their rough travel patch ceases.
