Dion Bailey has put his name into the ring for the upcoming NFL Draft. The 6′ 200lb safety who also has played linebacker in certain situations is the first of the USC Trojans to make his decision regarding the NFL. This past season, Bailey recorded 44 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, half of a sack, 5 interceptions, 6 pass deflections and a forced fumble.
There could be a few underclassmen from the Trojans that ultimately declare. Not only do they have talent, but with the coaching change, they may prefer to learn a new system in the NFL rather than learning a new one in another year of college.
The Lakewood, California native enters a class some are criticizing as being relatively thin at the safety position. It remains to be seen if this will cause a run of declarations from USC players that could include wide receiver Marqise Lee, defensive tackle George Uko and linebacker Hayes Pullard.
