2013 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl: Oregon State snaps losing skid with easy win over Boise State

After opening up the season on an impressive run following a loss to Eastern Washington, the Oregon State Beavers ended the 2013 on a five-game losing streak. There was one point where head coach Mike Riley and this team was dreaming of a Rose Bowl appearance, instead they had to settle for tonight’s Hawaii Bowl against the Boise State Broncos.

Instead of yet another disappointment, the Beavers showed up and ended the season on a high note with a 38-23 victory over the Broncos.

On this night, as opposed to the usual passing attack getting the job done for Oregon State, it was running back Storm Woods that turned in the best performance, rushing the ball 16 times for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback Sean Mannion was still on point, though, completing 24 of 33 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown, that lone scoring strike to his favorite target, Brandin Cooks.

Oregon State finishes their 2013 with a 7-6 record, while Boise State heads off into the post-Chris Petersen era at 8-5.
