With the success the Duke Blue Devils had this season, it is not a surprise that other teams would come looking at their coaching staff. Florida has managed to lure away offensive coordinator Kurt Roper to take over the coordinating duties for Brent Pease, who was let go after an ugly season for the Gators. Roper will stay on and coach the Blue Devils in their December 31st bowl game against Texas A&M; they play in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.
Under Roper, the Blue Devils were 63rd in the nation in passing, 59th in rushing and 50th in scoring. The hope for Florida is with a more talented roster, those results will only be better against the SEC, but the key with Roper is learning how to develop the quarterback position under David Cutcliffe. If he can carry that over and help Florida with that respective position, it would go a long way as they have struggled there recently.
