Last night in the game between the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers, center Pau Gasol suffered a gash near his eye. Gasol was near the basket when trying to move from left to right while Suns center Miles Plumlee was guarding him.

Their heads connected and Gasol suffered a gash. Gasol dumped the ball out immediately and walked off the court. It was purely accidental but still a pretty nasty gash.

The Suns went on to beat the Lakers 117-90, head coach Mike D’Antoni isn’t discouraged though.

“Why would I be discouraged?” a testy D’Antoni said, via ESPN LA. “We are fighting with a bunch of good guys that played well before and they will play again. If (the fans) are discouraged, then find another team to root for. We are not going to give up.

“Are you kidding me? Discouraged? That is not even fair to these guys. They’re going to fight.”
