As you know, a number of the good television shows have already taken their leave for the Winter Break. American Horror Story: Coven is no different. It has been two weeks since the last episode, and unfortunately, at this point it is going to be another two weeks before he get another all-new episode.
For every question that the last episode answered, it seemed like two more popped up in their place. We now know more information about the organization that was backing Hank’s witch hunting efforts. However, what is going to happen now that Hank has met an untimely demise? I am sure that his father was none too pleased to learn of his son’s passing.
We also know that Cordelia has regained her sight. Unfortunately, once her eyes were removed from her body and replaced with those that Myrtle stole from the other members of the council; she lost the power of her second sight. While having back her real eyes is definitely beneficial, the power of her second sight was really useful in uncovering the truth of a matter.
Also, in what turned out to be the big cliffhanger of the episode, the Voodoo Queen has made a pretty shaky pact with Fiona. Unfortunately for her, it took the near annihilation of her tribe to see what it was that Fiona was trying to tell her all along. I guess this goes to show that sometimes, pride can be the ultimate downfall of the mighty.
We are definitely in for some surprises in the next few episodes. If what Ryan Murphy has been teasing is true, we are in for a bloodbath between now and the season finale. In the next episode, entitled “The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks,” the legend herself will be making an appearance in the show. While the exact details behind her role are not readily available, one could assume that it will have something to do with Misty Day’s character, as Stevie Nicks is Misty’s goddess.
We will also soon meet Papa Legba. As we reported earlier, Papa Legba will be played by Fringe’s Lance Reddick. He will play a sort of “Voodoo Satan” who will play heavily into Marie Laveau’s story arc.
What can we expect when American Horror Story: Coven returns? Blood, betrayal, and backstabbing are a few words that come to mind. Beyond that, we will just have to watch and see.
American Horror Story: Coven will return on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. on FX.
