While it may have looked good on paper before the season began, today’s match up between the Chicago Bulls and the New Jersey Nets hasn’t really drawn a lot of attention from the casual basketball fans, mainly because both are struggling to start the season.
The Bulls came into this one with a 10-16 record and without Derrick Rose, the one player I’m sure the league wanted playing in this one.
The Nets come in at 9-18 as the Jason Kidd experiment continues to fail miserably.
Nonetheless, though, this is what we were treated to to begin the Christmas Day festivities, and so far, the Bulls are handling things in a rather easy fashion.
They’ve been able to build a lead as big as 20 at one point through some stellar play from Taj Gibson. Aside from dominating the game on offense with his 16 points, Gibson has also been stepping up on the defensive side of the ball, like he showed the Nets’ Deron Williams on this play:
That’s about how this entire one has gone for the lowly Nets.
