Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs final score: Rockets beat Spurs 111-98

The Houston Rockets defeated the San Antonio Spurs 111-98 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.  The Rockets improved to 19-11, and the Spurs fell to 22-7.

James Harden scored 28 points along with six rebounds and six assists to lead the Rockets in a winning effort against the Spurs.

Houston shot 52.3% from the field, and all five starters scored in double digits. San Antonio shot 40.7% from the field, and only had two starters score in double digits.

The Rockets scored 40 points in the first quarter, but the Spurs fought their way back into the game.  The Spurs were down by three points with 9:34 to go in the fourth.  Incredibly, Harden scored 16 of his 28 points over the final 7:56 to put the game out of reach.

Rockets top performers: James Harden (see above).  Terrence Jones netted 21 points and grabbed 14 boards along with three blocks.  Chandler Parsons finished with 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists.  Dwight Howard had a monstrous double-double with 15 points and 20 rebounds.  Jeremy Lin scored 13 points and dropped eight dimes.

Spurs top performers: Manu Ginobili scored a team-high 22 points.  Kawhi Leonard netted 13 points along with seven rebounds.  Tim Duncan finished with 11 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, and six blocks.

Next game:  Houston plays Memphis tomorrow at 8 pm ET on TNT.  San Antonio plays at Dallas tomorrow at 8:30 pm ET.
